This time the staff at Southampton University’s Institute of Sound and Vibration Research say, modern geometries are too complex to pinpoint the exact cause of the whistling, so solutions to whistling are often unique to the building itself. Sometimes using scale models of intended buildings to look for what they call “feedback mechanisms in the vortex-shedding process” could show us how the problem maybe solved.
So the whistling of 1 WTC went away, as the final struts stacked into place. But still let' s hack back to our question and ask science; Why buildings whistle?
